About
the Founders
Montage Legal Group was co-founded by
Laurie Gormican Rowen and Erin Clary
Giglia in early 2009. Laurie and
Erin met at Snell & Wilmer, LLP,
where they worked together as
associates in the Orange County
office. After their daughters were
born three weeks apart, the two
litigators decided to go out on their
own as freelance/contract attorneys.
Laurie and Erin worked for several
Southern California law firms on a
contract basis for a year, and added
similarly situated attorneys to their
group. Montage Legal Group now
includes 32 female attorneys, all
of whom have left law firms in search
of balance between career and family.
About
Montage Legal Group
In
today's legal climate, using
independent contractors for attorney
services is a way for a law firm or
business to maintain a competitive
edge. Providing employee benefits,
uncertain work flow, spending time
with payroll, and performing
administrative tasks can make it too
costly and risky to hire an
associate. When workload fluctuates
due to trials or a heavy caseload,
skilled freelance attorneys can enable
a firm to provide excellent work
product for their clients at reduced
costs.
Montage Legal Group is the answer to
the unique challenges currently facing
all types of law firms and small
businesses. Montage Legal Group is
not a law firm itself, but is a
network of individual sole
practitioner attorneys doing freelance
work from home on an hourly basis.
Whether a law firm needs assistance
with law and motion work, depositions,
court appearances or document review,
or wants to add a new specialty or
increased knowledge to their practice,
Montage Legal Group’s attorneys can
step in to provide quality legal
assistance at a moment's notice. Just
as an artistic montage unites simple
elements to create a beautiful art
form, our "montage" of attorneys unites
with firms of all sizes to create
excellent work product.
Montage Legal Group’s freelance
attorneys are the top of the "contract
attorney market," having graduated at
the top of their law school classes,
and with valuable experience in
full-service law firms. Our attorneys
have been trained by the nation’s top
law firms in all substantive legal
practices, and can handle any task
trusted to law firm associates.
Montage Legal Group brings large firm
experience and talent to other law
firms, on an as-needed basis.
