Amy graduated summa
cum laude from Creighton University in
1993. She attended the University of Iowa
School of Law, where she was an associate
editor of the Iowa Law Review,
received the American Jurisprudence Award
for Civil Procedure and was named “Best
Advocate” as a member of the Moot Court
Competition’s National Finalist Team. She
obtained her Juris Doctor with high
distinction in 1996.
After law school, Amy
joined Snell & Wilmer, LLP. She practiced
health care litigation in their Phoenix
office from 1996-1999 and then transferred
to the Orange County office where she was
elected to the position of Senior Attorney
and practiced in the product liability
litigation group until 2009. At Snell &
Wilmer, Amy defended a range of clients from
individuals and small businesses to Fortune
500 companies. These clients included
physicians, hospitals, pharmaceutical and
medical device manufacturers and automobile
manufacturers. She second-chaired several
jury trials, took hundreds of depositions of
parties and experts as well as fact
witnesses, conducted complex discovery and
prepared and argued numerous motions in
state and federal court.
She then joined Morgan
Lewis & Bockius LLP in Irvine as a staff
associate in their nationally acclaimed
labor and employment practice group, where
her practice was focused on defending
employers against claims under both federal
and California laws for wrongful
termination, discrimination, harassment and
retaliation and defending against wage and
hour class action disputes for
misclassification of workers, unpaid wages
and overtime, and meal and rest breaks.
In addition to her legal
work, Amy is a volunteer Court-Appointed
Special Advocate with CASA of Orange County,
mentoring and advocating in court on behalf
of abused and neglected children. She is
also an active member of the Riverside
County Bar Association, and currently serves
on their publications committee.
