Amy Hirsh-Holtzman graduated magna
cum laude from UCLA in 2000, with a B.A.
in Political Science and a specialization in
Business Administration. After college, Amy
spent three years as a manager in the
fast-track Leadership Development Program at
SBC Communications, where she managed a
unionized workforce of directory assistance
operators and technician dispatchers.
She then attended UCLA
School of Law and received the Paul
Hastings’ Barbra L. Davis Scholarship for
demonstrated academic excellence and
interest in employment law. While in law
school, Amy also externed for the Honorable
Dana M. Sabraw in the U.S. District Court,
Southern District of California, and served
as a teaching assistant in UCLA’s Legal
Research and Writing Program. She obtained
her Juris Doctor, Order of the Coif,
in 2006.
After law school, Amy
clerked for the Honorable Alicemarie H.
Stotler in the U.S. District Court, Central
District of California. Then, in 2007, she
joined Paul Hastings’ Employment Law
Department in San Francisco. At Paul
Hastings, Amy represented and counseled
employers in single and multi-plaintiff
employment litigation, with particular
emphases on equal employment opportunity and
wage and hour litigation and advice. She
managed investigations; took and defended
numerous depositions; wrote and argued
several motions including dispositive
motions; handled mediations and
negotiations; and prepared for trial. While
at Paul Hastings, Amy also maintained an
active pro bono practice and served as the
Firm’s liaison to the Bar Association of San
Francisco’s Homeless Advocacy Project.
Amy left Paul Hastings
in 2011 and joined Montage Legal Group, a
network of freelance attorneys who opted out
of the traditional law firm model in favor
of flexibility. Amy currently handles
freelance legal projects for law firms in
California.
In addition to her
legal work, Amy is actively involved in
alumni activities for UCLA and UCLA Law,
serving on the UCLA Law Reunion Committee
and acting as an alumni mentor to students.
Amy also has served on the Board of
Directors for Friends of the STAPLES Center
Foundation, and has participated in service
activities and fundraising for LA Works, the
American Cancer Society, and the Pediatric
AIDS Foundation. |
