Dimetria A. Jackson
received her Juris Doctor from the
University of Virginia School of Law in
1991. She earned her undergraduate degree
from Dartmouth College in 1987.
Following law school,
Dimetria was selected as an Echoing Green
Foundation Fellow. She pursued a fellowship
with the National Health Law Program, a
national public interest law firm, where she
founded the Women & HIV Policy Development
Project to provide legal advice, trainings
and advocacy on access to health care for
low-income HIV positive women and those at
risk. Dimetria then joined the Los Angeles
County Counsel’s Juvenile Dependency
Division, where she represented the
Department of Children and Family Services.
Dimetria then transitioned to corporate work
and joined First American Title Insurance
Company as an in-house attorney. In 2000,
Dimetria joined First American Trust, FSB,
where she served as Senior Vice President,
General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer
and Corporate Secretary.
Dimetria’s legal
experience includes contract drafting and
negotiations; mergers and acquisitions;
corporate governance and general corporate
transactions; risk management; development
of internal policies and procedures;
assessment of operational issues, privacy
and conflicts of interest; vendor
management, records retention and custodian
of records and board minute books;
securities and investment adviser
registrations and filings; advising on
regulatory compliance, banking, fiduciary
services and investment management; privacy
and client disclosures; and managing
litigation.
Dimetria joined Montage
Legal Group in 2011 and is currently working
as a freelance attorney for law firms and
companies in California. In addition to
her legal work, Dimetria is actively
involved in several nonprofit organizations.
She has served in numerous leadership roles
within the Orange County Bar Association,
and is the incoming 2012 President of the
OCBA. Dimetria currently serves on the
Boards of the OCBA’s Charitable Fund, the
Orange County Bar Foundation and InTouch
Credit Union. She previously served on the
Board of the Public Law Center. Dimetria is
also the CEO of an online children’s retail
boutique, redBAMBINA.com.
