Sara Hakami graduated cum
laude from University of
California at Irvine, where
she was admitted into Phi Beta
Kappa. She received her Juris
Doctor from Chapman University
School of Law, cum laude,
in 2006. While at Chapman,
Sara was Notes Editor for the
Chapman Law Review.
After law school, Sara
joined Tharpe & Howell as an
associate, where she practiced
until 2008. At Tharpe &
Howell, Sara defended
automobile manufacturers,
restaurants, high-end hotels
and resorts, and developers in
premises liability,
construction defect, and
personal injury. Sara prepared
and argued numerous motions in
state court, took the lead in
numerous depositions,
conducted complex discovery on
a national level, and prepared
for numerous trials.
After Tharpe & Howell, Sara
practiced as a legal
consultant for Kayson
International Co. until
January 2010. At Kayson, she
reviewed and drafted various
international construction
contracts, and was responsible
for the majority of the
company’s legal documents.
Sara is currently doing
contract work for several law
firms. In addition to her
contract work, Sara’s passion
for legal research and writing
led her to a position as an
Adjunct Professor at Trinity
Law School in Santa Ana, where
she teaches Legal Research and
Writing and the Legal Writing
Lab. At Trinity, Sara helped
to create a newly instituted
writing program, including an
entire course curriculum, to
help teach students the
fundamentals of legal writing. |
