Tami Vail attended San Diego
State University, and obtained
her Juris Doctor from
University of San Diego School
of Law in 2004, where she
received honors in legal
writing and was a
semi-finalist in the Paul A.
McLennon Moot Court
Competition.
After law school, Tami
joined Watkins & Casaudoumecq,
a small insurance defense firm
in Costa Mesa, California. At
Watkins & Casaudoumecq, Tami
regularly handled cases from
pre-litigation through all
stages of the litigation
process, took numerous
depositions and regularly
attended mediations. Tami’s
cases at Watkins &
Casaudoumecq involved a wide
array of topics, including
large scale property damage
subrogation claims, wage and
hour claims, sexual and gender
harassment cases, professional
liability allegations against
dentists, premises liabilty
claims and construction
defect.
In the Fall of 2007, Tami
joined the general liability
group at Lewis Brisbois
Bisgaard & Smith, LLP in Costa
Mesa. While at Lewis Brisbois
Bisgaard & Smith, LLP, Tami
represented a number of large
general contractors, national
transportation carriers,
specialty contractors,
governmental entities and
numerous business ventures in
premises liability, personal
injury and contract claims. At
Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard &
Smith, LLP, Tami was
responsible for complete file
management of numerous complex
and multi-party cases, and
regularly assisted in
negotiations that resulted in
successful settlements. As the
primary associate on these
cases, Tami prepared roughly a
dozen cases for trial, and
argued key motions in limine.
Tami’s file handling
responsibilities included
completing all aspects of
discovery, including witness
interviews and depositions,
and written discovery. In
addition, she took numerous
expert witness depositions,
and regularly drafted and
argued successful demurrers,
motions to strike, and motions
for summary judgment.
Tami is currently doing
contract work for law firms
and solo practitioners. When
her schedule permits, Tami
participates in half marathons
and philanthropic events
through her college sorority,
Alpha Phi, which focuses on
cardiac care and research. |
