Tracy Miller is a
leading attorney in domestic violence
restraining orders and criminal law in
Orange County. Tracy obtained her Juris
Doctor from Western State University,
College of Law in 2001. Tracy obtained her
B.A. from California State University, Long
Beach.
After law school, Tracy
joined the Riverside County District
Attorney's Office as a prosecutor. At the
Riverside District Attorney’s office, Tracy
handled over 100 preliminary hearings and
conducted jury trials concerning misdemeanor
and felony charges, including domestic
violence, elder abuse, DUI, indecent
exposure/lewd conduct, sexual battery,
simple battery, assault with deadly weapon,
child endangerment and vandalism. She has
also conducted several suppression of
evidence motions. Tracy was promoted to
felony Deputy District Attorney III and
worked in the Domestic Violence Vertical
Unit, where she handled cases from inception
through jury trial. Tracy then left the
Riverside District Attorney’s Office and
opened an independent law practice limited
to the areas of family law and criminal
defense. Tracy now handles family law,
criminal and quasi-criminal court
proceedings such as hearings regarding
restraining orders, orders to show cause
matters, bench and jury trials.
Tracy has extensive
experience in, and currently handles, cases
involving domestic violence (child custody
residence exclusion issues), civil
harassment, elder/dependent abuse, and
workplace violence restraining orders. She
also handles civil family law matters
including divorce, paternity, child custody,
spousal support, contempt orders to show
cause, post-judgment custody issues, and
juvenile matters. Tracy also handles
criminal defense matters concerning domestic
violence, child abuse, DUI, driving on a
suspended license, shoplifting, petty theft,
disturbing the peace, assault and battery,
drug possession and sale, gang crimes,
weapons charges, fraud/embezzlement, and
withdrawal of guilty plea motions.
Tracy is a frequent
speaker on family law, criminal law, and
domestic violence issues, and provides pro
bono legal services to victims of domestic
violence at Laura’s House legal clinic and
shelter. Tracy lives with her son and
